Vrsar will once again become a hub for competitive chess this spring, bringing together players from Croatia and abroad in a highly competitive and inspiring environment.
The Zagreb-based chess club “Sane Chess” is proud to organise the international chess tournament Vrsar Chess Open 2026, taking place from 4 to 10 May 2026 at the “Saline” sports hall in Vrsar, Croatia.
The tournament will be played in accordance with FIDE rules as a 9-round Swiss system event, with pairings generated using Swiss Manager software. The time control is 90 minutes per player with a 30-second increment per move starting from move one.
The event is FIDE-rated for standard rating, offering participants the opportunity to gain valuable rating points and compete at a high international level.
